The Chesaning Varsity Baseball team had their season end in a rain shortened game vs. Valley Lutheran in the District Semi-Finals. It was a well played game, but it was unfortunate the way it had to end. We just completed the top of the 5th inning and thunder led to a delay in play. Shortly after the delay it rained extremely hard and caused the field to be unplayable which then caused the game to be called at that point. It was a very difficult way to end the season, but I am so proud of our team because they gave it everything they had each game.
Michael James took the loss for the Indians going 4 innings and giving up 1 earned run on 3 hits, 1 walk, 2 hit batters and struck out 5. With the loss Michael’s record dropped to 6-2.
Leading the way at the plate for the Indians were:
Jarrett Kelley 2 walks
Ty Gross 1 walk
Nick Fowler 1 walk
Weston Powell 1 walk
We had the bases loaded with 1 out in the Top of the 5th, but were unable to get the timely hit we needed.
Chesaning finished the season 18-15 overall and 12-2 MMAC Champions.
