Chesaning drove to Frankenmuth for a dual match against both Frankenmuth and North Muskegon. It was a beautiful day for tennis and there were some great matches that took place. All three teams have had successful seasons and with the regional tournament approaching these matches were great preparation. Below are the details for each flight:

Brooke Miller, Chesaning 1 Singles-
Chesaning vs. North Muskegon: 0-6, 0-6. This was only the 3rd loss this season for Brooke Miller. She played well but in the end North Muskegon came out on top. Brooke Miller played her next match against Frankenmuth and won 6-2, 6-0. This brought Brookes season record to 13-3 going into the regional tournament in which she received a 2 seed.

Tina Chen, Chesaning 2 Singles-
Match vs. North Muskegon: 1-6, 0-6. Once again this was the third loss for Tina in the tennis season as well. Her last match vs. Frankenmuth was tough. The final score came to 1-6, 0-6. Tina has a season record of 12-4. Tina received a 2 seed for the regional tournament.

Bretlyn Warner, Chesaning 3 singles-
Match vs. North Muskegon: 0-6, 1-6. In the second match against Frankenmuth, Chesaning lost 1-6, 3-6. These were the first two losses for Bretlyn this season. Her record is 12-2 and she received a 1 seed for regionals.

Lilly Skaryd, Chesaning 4 singles-
Lilly is a 9th grader and new to the Chesaning tennis team this year. Her match against Muskegon ended in a 2-6, 0-6 loss against seasoned player Lindsay Bliss who is a senior this year. Lilly won her second match vs. Frankenmuth 6-2, 6-0. Lilly received a 2 seed going into the regional tournament as well along with her 1 and 2 singles teammates.

Jadyn Mathis and Katelyn Ferry, Chesaning 1 Doubles-
Chesaning one doubles played a tough match against North Muskegon and it ended in a 0-6, 1-6 loss. Their Frankenmuth match was equally as difficult with an end score of 2-6, 3-6. This one doubles team has had a successful season with a 13-3 record. They are a 2 seed for the regional tournament this Thursday.

Eve Griffin and Stephanie Coon, Chesaning 2 Doubles-
Chesaning 2 Doubles played hard against North Muskegon and had several close games. However, in the end North Muskegon pulled ahead with a win and the end score was 2-6, 3-6. Their match was a close one against Frankenmuth going into 3 sets. the score came out to 6-4, 3-6, with a 10 point tie breaker 4-10. This brings their season record to 10-2. Like their teammates, Eve and Stephanie received a 2 seed at the regional tournament.

Meghan Florian and Natasha Bixby, Chesaning 3 Doubles-
Match vs. North Muskegon: 4-6, 1-6. However, in their match against Frankenmuth this doubles team pulled ahead with a three set winning score of 6-6(7-4), 2-6 with a winning tie breaker at 10-4. Natasha is a Senior this year and Meghan is new to the Chesaning tennis team. They became partners later in the season and have had a very successful season. Their record is now 8-1. They received a 3 seed going into the regional tournament.

Miranda Montney and Kansas Deal, Chesaning 4 Doubles-
Chesaning vs. North Muskegon resulted in a 0-6, 1-6 loss. In their match against Frankenmuth the duo won in two sets with a tie breaker in the first. Their scores were 6-6(7-3), 6-3. This brought their record to 12-4 for the season. Miranda and Kansas received a 2 seed for the regional tournament. They are both juniors this year so we look forward to seeing them next year on the team as well.

At the end of the day both Frankenmuth and Chesaning were defeated by North Muskegon. They then Tied 4-4 in their overall match against each other. The weather was beautiful and all the girls played well and worked hard. Now looking forward to regionals this Thursday!!
