Chesaning completed the sweep over visiting Ovid-Elsie by winning the second game 10-0 in 6 innings. Michael James pitched the complete game shutout for the Indians and Jacob Turnwald had a great night, at the plate, going 7-8. Tonight we continued to play solid baseball in all phases of the game. I am very proud of our team because they keep grinding and working to get better everyday. These were two really big games for us to keep us in contention for the league title and the guys took care of business. We are 1 game behind New Lothrop and Durand, but we play Durand next Monday and Durand plays New Lothrop next Wednesday. So there is a lot of baseball to be played yet.

Leading the way at the plate for the Indians were:
Jacob Turnwald 4-5 and 1 RBI
Jarrett Kelley 2-3 and scored 1 run
Ty Gross 2-4 and scored 1 run
Kyle Rolfe 1-1 and scored 1 run
Tyler Sager 1-2, 2 walks and scored 3 runs
Michael James 1-3 and 1 RBI
Cole Higley 1-4 and scored 1 run
Collin Rogriguez 1-4, 1 RBI and scored 2 runs

Michael James pitched 6 innings giving up 0 runs on 4 hits, 3 walks and struck out 5. With the win Michael improves his record to 5-1.

With the win the Indians record improves to 15-9 overall and 10-2 in the MMAC.
Next game is in the Garber Invitational on Friday vs. Garber. Game time is 3:00 PM.
The final MMAC contest will be next Monday vs. Durand at Chesaning with a 4:00 PM start.
