The Chesaning High School cross country and track and field teams recently received a grant from the Brooks Running Company. The Brooks Booster Club, a needs-based grant program, provides performance running footwear and apparel as well as funding to under resourced high school cross country and track teams across the country. Only 25 schools receive this grant in the United States.
Chesaning received a grant of $12,500 for equipment and $2,000 to help with expenses. Chesaning was one of three schools in Michigan to receive the grant. Chesaning was nominated for this grant by Drew Windle, a silver medalist in the 800 meter run at the world championship. He dates former Chesaning runner Chantelle Fondren, and she told him about all of the great things Chesaning cross country and track had done for her and her running career.
Chesaning Union Schools would like to thank the Brooks Company, Drew Windle and Chantelle Fondren for your support. It is greatly appreciated! GO INDIANS!
